Alberto, Benito and Carlos eat together every day. At the end of the meal each of them asks for a tea or a coffee. If Alberto asks for coffee then Benito asks for the same as Carlos. If Benito asks for coffee, then Alberto asks for the drink Carlos doesn't ask for and if Carlos asks for tea, then Alberto asks for the same drink as Benito.

Which of them always asks for the same drink after eating?

Solution

Alberto always drinks tea.

If we take into account all the combinations of drinks that can be taken (C for Coffee and T for Tea) and discard those that do not comply with the statements of the statement, which are:

1-If Alberto asks for coffee, then Benito asks for the same as Carlos.
2-If Berta asks for coffee, then Alberto asks for the drink that Carlos doesn't ask for.
3-If Carlos asks for tea, then Alberto asks for the same drink as Benito.

Then we have something like this:

C C C (discarded by 2)
